What is energetic efficience?
Energy efficiency aims to reduce energy consumption by optimizing production processes and the use of energy, or in other words, produce more with less.
According to regulations, since June 1, 2013, it is mandatory for all homes that are sold or leased for more than four months period, have the energy performance certificate (label) of the home or commercial places to sell or rent .
This label will show a score on a letter which will vary from A to G, A being the most efficient and G the least efficient, having a validity of 10 years.
It will also be mandatory for new buildings or when a reform is implemented in a floor space of over 1,000 square meters.
How energy efficiency is calculated?
It’s calculated by measuring the energy consumed each year in normal conditions of occupation and use, given the unusual circumstances such as ventilation, lighting, heating and hot water among others.
What are its benefits?
- Promotion of renewable alternative energies.
- Reducing the environmental impact of energy consumption.
- Optimizing the use of energy.
- Decrease in CO2 gas emissions into the atmosphere.
- Promotion of energy efficiency.
- Reducing the impact on climate change.
- Savings on energy bills.
- Reducing risks from fluctuations in the prices of energy resources.
- Reducing dependence on foreign energy.
Who can make the energy certificate?
Royal Decree 235/2013 provides that the competent technicians to perform the energy certificate are those who are in possession of academic and professional qualifications enabling the drafting of projects and construction management, works or projects of thermal installations.
In Works and reforms Alicante, we have the appropriate and trained technicians to perform the energy certificate 38/1999 according to the process of energy certification of buildings.
